Industrial Alloys. was contracted by a customer in the cellular tower industry to fabricate a cell tower expansion star. ASTM-A36 hot rolled steel plate material was expertly cut to the specified configuration utilizing an advanced in house AKS plasma cutting system featuring 400 amp hypertherm power unit with bevel head. The tightest tolerances of ± 0.030” were held throughout. 100% dimensional inspection was performed to verify accuracy and quality.
Final dimensions of the expansion star were 2.75” in thickness, and an outer diameter of 38”. 12 units were precision cut after a 2 day turnaround time and shipped to the customer in Indian Trail, North Carolina. Industrial Alloys is a proud source of superior metals along with fabrication services including forming, welding, laser cutting and drilling among others.
