For three decades, Industrial Alloys, Inc. has been a premium provider of high quality processed metals and custom fabricated metal products. In the project highlighted here, a customer in the construction industry contracted Industrial Alloys for the custom fabrication of a specially designed backhoe bucket. In-house state-of-the-art machinery and tools were utilized to employ processes including plasma cutting, drilling, and forming on AR-400 and ASTM-A36 hot rolled carbon steel plates. The bucket’s intricate contours and detailing were created with precision CNC turning, and certified welding processes. The tightest tolerance of ± 0.030” was held throughout production. The unit was finished with a coating of gray paint and evaluated for accuracy and quality with a 100% dimensional inspection.
Finished dimensions of the bucket were a length of 24” and width of 36”. One unit was fabricated after a turnaround time of 2 weeks and delivered to the customer in Monroe, North Carolina. The customer’s specifications and the highest quality standards were met during the fabrication of this unit.
